Official Off-Site Shuttles

Most AMD drivers skip off-site shuttles and just head for taxis

At Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, about 9 km from central Ahmedabad, you won’t see the classic US-style park-and-ride lots with branded shuttles lined up. “Official Off-Site Shuttles” here basically means private parking operators within roughly 1 mile of T1 and T2 that run their own cars or vans back and forth. These sit outside the main airport boundary, so expect a short drive on City Gate Road or Airport Road rather than a walk into the terminal.

Shuttles typically work on an hourly rhythm rather than fixed flight-based slots, so assume up to 60 minutes between runs if you land at an awkward time. With both T1 and T2 handling different traffic (domestic in T1, international in T2), always confirm which terminal your shuttle serves before you lock in a booking. Some operators only drop at T1’s departure ramp and make you walk or take an internal transfer to T2, which can easily add another 15–20 minutes.

Pricing is usually pitched against daily on-airport parking, but the shuttle schedule matters more than a few extra rupees per day when you’re catching a 02:30 international departure from T2. AMD sees a lot of late-night and early-morning flights, and not every off-site lot keeps full 24-hour staffing. Call and get a specific shuttle time for your flight number and departure hour, especially if you’re leaving between 23:00 and 04:00.

Tip: build a 30–45 minute buffer between your planned parking arrival at the off-site lot and airline check-in cut-off at T1 or T2, and keep the lot’s phone number handy in case the hourly shuttle runs late or fills up.
