Prices quoted in SAR per car, not per person
UTA AlUla runs private transfers between AlUla Airport (ALU, Terminal T1) and hotels, resorts, and desert camps across the region. Rides are pre-booked, with fixed fares confirmed in Saudi riyals before pickup. Most runs between ALU and central AlUla take 30–45 minutes by car, depending on traffic along King Abdulaziz Road.
All pickups start outside T1 arrivals, just past the single public exit door and baggage carousel area. Drivers typically wait at the curb with a tablet or sign showing your name in English or Arabic. If your flight lands after 22:00, confirm your arrival time in writing; late-night arrivals at ALU are common during event weeks and some operators juggle multiple flights at once.
UTA AlUla usually uses modern SUVs or vans with air-conditioning and room for 3–6 passengers plus checked bags. For two people with one checked suitcase each (23 kg) and one cabin bag each, a standard SUV is fine; larger groups should request a van with at least six seats. Child seats are limited, so ask for one specifically and confirm again 24 hours before your flight.
How to book and what to expect
- 1. Book online or by phone at least 24 hours before arrival; during big events in AlUla, aim for 72 hours.
- 2. Share your airline, flight number, and ETA into ALU T1 so the driver can track delays of 30 minutes or more.
- 3. Get a written confirmation with fare in SAR, pickup point labeled “AlUla Airport T1 arrivals,” and a local mobile number.
- 4. On landing, expect 10–20 minutes for immigration and bags; message the driver via WhatsApp or SMS once you reach the belt.
- 5. Meet your driver at the T1 exit door; if you do not see a sign with your name within 10 minutes, call the provided number.
- 6. Confirm destination name and approximate drive time in minutes before leaving the curb, especially for camps beyond Hegra or Sharaan.
Keep 50–100 SAR in cash for tipping or short waiting time beyond the first 30 minutes, as some drivers prefer cash even when the main fare goes through UTA AlUla.
