Lumi runs a small car rental station inside Alula Airport’s T1 arrivals hall, just past baggage claim and customs. You don’t need a shuttle; you walk 2–3 minutes from the carousel to the counter. Hours usually track flight schedules, so expect staff on duty for all scheduled arrivals into ALU, including late-night domestic runs.
Counters sit opposite the main exit doors in T1, so you’ll see Lumi signs as soon as you leave the baggage belt area. Booking online ahead of time locks in a rate and usually speeds up paperwork at the desk. Walk-up rentals are possible, but inventory at a small field like ALU can shrink quickly on peak days and holidays.
Lumi’s fleet at Alula typically covers basic economy hatchbacks, 4-door sedans, and a handful of SUVs suited to local roads. Expect cheaper daily rates on compact cars, with prices climbing sharply once you move into 4x4 territory. If you plan any driving on rougher routes outside central Alula, aim for an SUV with higher ground clearance rather than the smallest sedan.
Parking for Lumi vehicles sits in the first row of the main airport lot, about 100–150 meters from the T1 arrivals doors. Staff usually walk you out, do a quick exterior check, and mark fuel and mileage on a paper or tablet form. Take 60–90 seconds to shoot your own photos of all four sides plus the roof and wheels before leaving the lot.
Returns go to the same general parking area at Alula Airport, with Lumi bays marked near the front. Plan to be back at ALU at least 30 minutes before your check-in cut-off to handle fuel, the return inspection, and the short walk back into T1. Keep your printed or digital rental agreement handy; staff often ask for the contract number to close out the file.
One tip: fuel stations near ALU can be sparse at night, so fill up in town before you head back toward the airport, rather than counting on a last-minute top-up within 5–10 km of the terminal.
