Remote

Seven bucks a day is the Economy E story at ALB

Remote Parking at Albany really means the on-airport Economy E lot plus a few off-site hotel lots, all chasing that sub-$8 rate. The headline: Economy E runs about $7 per day, roughly what locals quote on Reddit and Facebook, and it sits about 1 mile from the terminal with a shuttle included.

The shuttle run from Economy E to the terminal takes about 5 minutes when it’s moving, and most flyers report 15–20 minutes total from locking the car to standing inside the building. One regular says they only use the Economy lot and its shuttle for every ALB trip, treating it as default parking.

A common rule of thumb from locals: use the $7 Economy E lot for trips over 3 days, and pay up for long-term or garage if you’re back in under that. One Facebook user pegged a week in Economy at about $84, which lines up with the posted rate.

There are quirks. Several travelers note occasional 10-minute waits for the shuttle on the return, especially outside peak runs, and spring break / holiday threads mention Economy getting tight or full. One Reddit tip: park near where the shuttle bus itself is sitting inside the Economy area; that stretch tends to have more open spaces and quicker pickup.

Off-airport, the Hampton Inn on Wolf Road shows up a lot in trip reports: roughly $5.99 per day, with a complimentary shuttle running about 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. when booked through third-party parking sites. Locals say they’ll pre-book Hampton or another hotel lot during busy weeks, but just drive straight to Economy E on normal travel days.

Tip: flying early, aim to park in Economy E by 90 minutes before your airline’s check-in cutoff to absorb a 10-minute shuttle wait plus the 5-minute ride.
