NAT terminal’s fast option when you just need a sandwich

Upper Crust-Citees-Haribo sits in Alicante’s NAT terminal airside, so you’re fine once you clear security and head toward the main Schengen gates. It runs through most of the day in line with peak departures, generally opening by early morning for the first 06:00–07:00 wave. Think quick counter service, grab-and-go shelves, and a coffee machine that stays busy when the early Ryanair and easyJet flights line up.

Prices land squarely in airport territory: expect around €5–€7 for filled baguettes at Upper Crust, with basic pastries closer to €2–€3, and bottled soft drinks in the €2.50–€3 range. Citees-branded hot drinks usually hover around €2 for an espresso and €3–€3.50 for larger milk coffees. If you just want a sugar hit, the Haribo section sells small bags around €2–€3 and larger share bags for a few euros more.

The food lineup is simple: pre-made baguettes, wraps, and pastries on the Upper Crust side, standard barista-style coffees under the Citees name, and packaged sweets from Haribo. Expect the usual ham-and-cheese, chicken, and tuna mixes rather than anything regional. Turnover is steady because of the NAT flow, so sandwiches don’t usually sit all day, but check the display and grab ones with the latest timestamp sticker if you can see it.

Service pace depends heavily on the exact departure bank; at the 09:00–11:00 and 18:00–20:00 windows queues can easily hit 10–15 people. Staff typically move the line quickly, but ordering a custom coffee plus a heated pastry will always take longer than just lifting a cold sandwich and paying. If your boarding pass shows a non-Schengen gate at NAT, factor in the extra passport control and don’t plan a made-to-order stop right before your 20:30 flight.

Tip: buy water and snacks here in one go; a 500 ml bottle and a sandwich from Upper Crust plus a Haribo bag will almost always cost less than grabbing drinks from the small gate kiosks closer to boarding at NAT.
