Gate-side coffee fix in NAT Terminal
At Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport’s NAT terminal, Tim Hortons sits airside as a simple answer to pre-flight caffeine and snacks. It’s one of the few North American chains in ALC, so you’ll recognize the red logo as soon as you clear security and head toward the main departures food court area.
The menu hits the usual Tim Hortons standards: brewed coffee, basic espresso drinks, and the famous doughnuts and Timbits. Expect prices in the €2–€4 range for coffee and around €1–€2 per doughnut, slightly higher than a city store but normal for NAT terminal airside. It runs across the main departure bank, opening early for morning departures and staying open through the late-evening UK and Northern Europe flights.
Food is fast and predictable: breakfast sandwiches, simple paninis, and boxed pastries you can carry to any gate in NAT within 5–7 minutes. If you want something to eat on a Ryanair or easyJet hop that sells only snacks, a breakfast sandwich and a large coffee here usually still come in under €10. Seating is shared with nearby outlets in the central food area, so you’re rarely more than a 3–4 minute walk back to most Schengen gates.
Service at this Tim Hortons is geared to volume, not custom orders, so stick to standard drinks rather than complex espresso tweaks. NAT can spike with UK charter flights, and lines here stretch to 10–15 minutes in that rush, especially around the 06:30–09:00 bank, but they tend to move steadily.
Plan one thing: if you want coffee in hand before boarding, stop at Tim Hortons as soon as you exit security in NAT, then walk to the gate; don’t wait to see if there’s something better closer to your stand number.
