Arrival Lobby, T1: Lawson S is your first snack stop

Right in the T1 Arrival Lobby, Lawson S Asahikawa Airport runs from 7:30 to 20:00 and basically covers all the convenience-store needs this small airport misses elsewhere. It sits landside, so you hit it as soon as you walk out from baggage claim, before heading to buses or rental cars parked outside the terminal.

This is a compact Lawson S branch, but it still carries the core staples: rice balls, simple bentos, instant noodles, bottled drinks, and basic toiletries. Pricing tracks normal Lawson levels, so onigiri and sandwiches usually sit in the low hundreds of yen rather than “airport pricing.” You’ll also see some magazines and light reading material for the 35–60 minute ride into Asahikawa city or Furano.

Selection leans toward quick carry-out: sandwiches, snacks, and canned coffee you can drink while waiting at the bus stands just outside T1. It’s also one of the few spots in the building where you can quickly grab something after a 19:00 arrival, since many airport restaurants in Hokkaido shut down early. Stock of fresh bentos thins toward closing time at 20:00, so don’t bank on late-evening hot food.

Tip: If you land hungry, walk straight through the Arrival Lobby to Lawson S before buying your bus ticket; you can eat on the ride and avoid overpaying at a vending machine later.
