Footlongs in T1: Subway is your known quantity

Right in Terminal T1 after security, Subway at Aracaju–Santa Maria is the “I know what this will taste like” option when you don’t want surprises before a GOL or Azul hop. It’s a standard counter setup with made-to-order sandwiches, basic seating, and fast takeaway if your boarding pass is already flashing “final call.” Expect airport pricing: a 15 cm sub with a drink usually lands around the mid-R$20s, a full 30 cm combo trending higher.

The menu sticks to the classic Subway lineup: ham, tuna, roasted chicken, meatball, plus the usual veggie build. Breads follow the global template too, with Italian white and whole wheat almost always ready, while anything more “special” runs out first during the 18:00–21:00 rush. Cookies sit near the register and are often cheapest as part of a combo rather than alone, so check the board before you pay.

Hours typically track the first and last bank of flights in T1, so you’ll usually see lights on roughly from 05:00 until around the last departures close to 23:00. Early morning, they’ll push egg-based sandwiches and basic coffee; after about 10:30, it’s all standard cold cuts and chicken. Card payment is the norm, and foreign credit cards run fine on the pinpads, though smaller purchases under R$20 sometimes draw a cash preference from staff.

Lines spike about 45 minutes before major departures to São Paulo and Brasília, so a “quick” sandwich can easily turn into a 15–20 minute wait. Seating fills in sync with that rush, and you might end up eating at the gate if you cut it close. One practical tip: if you see more than five people in line, decide your bread, size, and toppings before reaching the counter; that alone can shave a couple of minutes and keep you from hearing your name on the final boarding call.
