The shop sits airside in T1, so you reach it only after check-in and security, and you can easily loop back from the waiting area in under 3 minutes if you forget something.
Staff typically handle standard international allowances and will ask for your boarding pass to confirm destination and flight number. They pack bottles reasonably well, though you might want extra padding if you have a tight connection through another Indian airport.
