Duty Free Shop

Gate-side shopping in T1 for last‑minute gifts

This small Duty Free Shop in Terminal 1 sits airside after security at Abha International Airport, so you can duck in without leaving the gate area. The footprint is compact, more like a corner store than a mega duty free, so you’ll cover the shelves in 5–10 minutes tops.

Stock skews to travel basics and gifts: standard international chocolates, a few shelves of perfumes and cosmetics, plus some tobacco and basic electronics like charging cables and headphones. Prices follow typical duty free logic: better than downtown on imported liquor and cosmetics, not amazing for snacks or water compared with a landside supermarket in Abha.

Selection is limited compared with bigger Saudi hubs like JED or RUH, so don’t bank on finding niche fragrance brands or high-end single malts here. Think mainstream labels and smaller bottle sizes that fit easily into a cabin bag. Staff usually ring you up quickly; even at busier evening departure banks, you’re rarely in line more than 5 minutes.

Grab sealed 500 ml or 1 L water bottles and boxed chocolates here if you’re connecting onward on a regional airline that doesn’t load much catering. Alcohol rules follow Saudi law: you won’t find spirits or wine on the shelves, despite the “duty free” name. Best move: walk the shop once right after security, buy what you need, then head straight to your gate in T1.
