Five minutes from T1 security, this shop is your last Moroccan stop
Just past security in Terminal T1 at Al Massira Airport, the Local arts and crafts shop sells Morocco-made pieces that beat the usual fridge magnets. Expect shelves of handmade ceramics, simple leather goods, and woven items, all within a compact space you can cover in under 10 minutes before boarding.
Most small souvenirs run in the low hundreds of Moroccan dirhams, with tiny items like keyrings and mini tagines cheaper than what you’ll see in central Agadir hotels. Larger items, like decorative plates or carved wooden pieces, climb quickly in price, so check the sticker before you commit. Card payment is accepted, but having 100–200 MAD in cash helps if a terminal goes down.
The shop sits airside in T1 between the main café cluster and several international departure gates, so you don’t need to backtrack far from typical boarding points. It opens for the morning departures window and usually stays open through the last evening flights, though hours flex with the day’s schedule. If you land and exit to landside, you’ve gone too far; it’s only accessible after security.
Quality is mixed: some pieces look genuinely handmade, others more factory-standard. Textiles with clear labels and thicker ceramics feel more solid than super-light options. If you care about breakage on a 3–4 hour flight, avoid very thin-glazed plates and go for smaller bowls or leather items that pack easier.
Tip: snap a quick photo of price tags on the first shelf you like, then loop the shop once; it makes it easier to compare before you pick one or two things and head to your gate.
