International

Near International departures security, Tariş is the olive stop.

Tariş sits airside in the International terminal, an easy 3–5 minute walk from most gates once you clear passport control. This is the shop that leans hard into Aegean basics: olive oil, olive-based soaps, packaged dried fruits, and a few boxed sweets with “İzmir” printed large on the labels. It’s clearly souvenir-focused rather than duty-free perfume or electronics.

Prices run mid-range by airport standards, with small olive oil tins starting around €6–8 and larger gift packs climbing toward €20–25. Pre-packed assortments of soaps or Turkish delight often sit near the entrance, so you can grab one and be out in under 3 minutes if boarding starts at Gate 219 or nearby. Card payments are standard; you won’t need Turkish lira for most transactions.

Quality is better than random tourist kiosks in the city center, but this is still airport retail. If you care about flavor, skip the very tiny sampler bottles and move up to the 250 ml Tariş-branded oils; they travel well in carry-on from International because they’re sold after security and stay within most customs alcohol/food limits. Pre-wrapped gift boxes list ingredients in both Turkish and English, which helps if you’re avoiding nuts or certain additives.

Lines build right after the big evening bank of flights around 20:00–22:00, when several non-Schengen departures from International board one after another. If you want time to compare labels or buy multiple gifts, swing by Tariş first thing after security instead of waiting until your flight to, say, Frankfurt or London is on final call.
