Mado sits just past security in ADB’s Domestic terminal

You’ll see Mado right after security in the Domestic side of Adnan Menderes Airport, before most of the gate seating. It’s a familiar Turkish chain, so menus, pastries, and ice cream look the same as in the city. Prices are higher than downtown Izmir, but still mid-range for an airport café: think roughly café-restaurant pricing rather than quick takeaway.

Opening hours track with the main flight banks, roughly early morning to late evening, so you can usually get a coffee before a 07:00 departure or something sweet after a 22:00 arrival. Service runs at typical airport speed: order at the counter, then wait a few minutes for hot items, a bit faster for drinks and desserts already in the display case.

Food is standard Mado: Turkish breakfast plates, gözleme, simit, sandwiches, and desserts like baklava and künefe. Ice cream is the draw here, including the stretchy “dondurma” in several flavors, plus classic cakes in the fridge. Portions are café-sized, not huge; a basic breakfast and coffee will often land around the cost of a similar meal in a mid-tier city café, with cakes and ice cream adding a few extra euros or equivalent in lira.

The drink menu covers Turkish tea, Turkish coffee, espresso drinks, soft drinks, and bottled water. A latte or cappuccino costs more than in central Izmir but sits in line with other airport cafés in Turkey. If you’re tight on time, tea and pre-cut cakes from the counter move quicker than made-to-order hot dishes or grilled items.

Seats fill quickly before morning flights from Domestic gates, especially near the windows. If you want a table plus an outlet, walk a bit farther down toward the neighboring cafés and check for open spots, then return here for takeaway ice cream or pastries instead of a full sit-down meal.
