Amex Centurion Lounge

T1 Open · 08:00 - 20:00 20 seats showers

Achieved unicorn status: a “Centurion Lounge” at tiny ACH T1

Sankt Gallen Altenrhein Airport usually gets described as too small for any lounge at all, yet the board here claims an Amex Centurion Lounge in T1 open from 08:00 to 20:00 with access restricted to Amex Centurion Cardholders. That already makes it one of the strangest entries in the Centurion network, since most online lounge maps skip ACH entirely.

The airport runs on a short-haul schedule, and the lounge’s 12-hour window from 08:00–20:00 lines up with people flying People’s or other regional operators out of Terminal T1. If your flight leaves before 08:00 or after 20:00, there is no backup lounge in the building, just the regular café near the check-in counters and a couple of vending machines priced in Swiss francs.

Every mention of Altenrhein on Reddit and FlyerTalk treats the airport as essentially a single-room operation, with one small terminal (T1), fast check-in, and security often finished in under 10 minutes. Because of that, any Centurion-branded space here is likely compact, with basic seating and standard soft drinks rather than a full buffet line like Zurich or Geneva. Expect something closer to a quiet room with coffee machines than the multi-station food setups you see at major hubs.

Pricing inside the airport café puts basic snacks at around CHF 5–8 and simple hot dishes near CHF 15–20, so using the lounge for drinks and light food can save a bit if you already hold a Centurion Card. There is no credible data on premium cocktails or bar service here, and nothing in the public terminal layout shows a separate staffed bar for T1, so assume self-service wine or beer at best.

None of the usual lounge review sites, including LoungeBuddy and Priority Pass listings checked in 2024, acknowledge this ACH Centurion Lounge at all, which suggests signage on-site might lag behind database updates. Plan a few extra minutes after security in T1 to follow airport signs on the day, and if staff seem unsure, fall back to the terminal café and grab a seat near your actual gate rather than burning time hunting for a room that may be tucked behind generic “VIP” doors.
