Cafetería Medas

T1 ★ 3.6

Cafetería Medas is the default coffee stop in T1

In Lanzarote’s T1, Cafetería Medas is the generic Spanish airport café you see next to brands like KFC and Burger King, with a middle-of-the-road 3.56 rating that matches how people talk about it: fine, not special. It sits airside after security, so you can keep an eye on ACE’s small set of T1 gates while you grab something quick.

Food is the usual Medas lineup: pre-made bocadillos, simple pastries, and basic hot dishes at prices that sit firmly in airport territory, often around €4–€6 for a sandwich and €2–€3 for coffee. Expect industrial tortilla wedges, croissants, and cakes in a glass case, plus bottled drinks and a couple of draught or canned beers if you want one before your T1 departure.

Service speed matters here because ACE queues can flare up at T1 security in the morning, and Medas is often the first café people hit once they clear checks. You order at the counter, pay on the spot, then either stand at the bar the Spanish way or grab one of the small tables facing the T1 departures hall and gate area.

Quality lines up with that 3.56 rating: coffee is serviceable but not destination-worthy, pastries can sit a bit too long under the lights, and heated items sometimes come out uneven, especially in busier T1 waves when multiple flights board at once. Portions tend to be modest for the price, consistent with other Spanish AENA-airport Medas outlets.

Cafetería Medas runs through most of the flight day in T1, typically opening with the early departures and staying available until the last evening movements on mainstream tourist routes. If you want anything more substantial than a basic sandwich and coffee, check what’s open further along the T1 concourse before you commit at the counter.

Tip: prices are clearly posted on overhead boards at T1’s Medas; scan the menu and glass case first, decide quickly, then order in one go to avoid holding up the often short but impatient pre-boarding line.
