Joyeria Local

Gate-side jewelry stop in Terminal 1

Just past security in Terminal 1 at Acapulco’s General Juan N. Álvarez Airport (ACA), Joyeria Local is the small jewelry shop you see near the main departures hall seating. It focuses on silver pieces, as you’d expect in Mexico, with simple bracelets, earrings, and pendants aimed at quick last-minute gifts. Stock skews touristy but you can usually spot a few cleaner, more minimal designs in the cases by the front counter.

Prices sit in the mid-range for an airport: think roughly 250–800 MXN for smaller items and up to 1,500–2,000 MXN for larger necklaces or sets. Payment by card is standard, but have a backup since airport terminals in ACA sometimes hiccup. If you’re buying anything labeled as plata .925, check for the stamp on the clasp or inside of rings before you pay. Staff are used to short layovers and move quickly if you say your boarding time.

Joyeria Local usually opens around the first morning departures and stays open through the late afternoon bank of flights, roughly 08:00–18:00, though hours can slide a bit in low season. It’s best for a quick 5–10 minute browse between security and your gate rather than a dedicated shopping run. No big designer names here, just generic lines plus locally styled pieces with Acapulco motifs, shells, and simple stones.

Tip: Check your boarding pass and stay within Terminal 1; don’t walk over from Terminal 2 just for this shop unless you have at least 45 minutes free and already cleared security where your flight departs.
