Gate-side shop at ACA for last-minute souvenirs
Casa Acapulco sits airside at General Juan N. Álvarez International Airport (ACA), after security in Terminal 1, so you can stop in even with a 30–40 minute buffer before boarding. It’s a standard airport gift shop setup, focused on Acapulco-themed items more than travel essentials. Expect the usual mix of T-shirts, small handicrafts, beach-style accessories, and basic packaged snacks.
Pricing runs above downtown Acapulco: T-shirts often land in the MXN 250–400 range, and small souvenirs like keychains and magnets hover around MXN 80–150. Drinks and chips cost noticeably more than at an OXXO in town, but that’s normal airport markup. You can pay in pesos or with major credit cards; some staff accept USD bills, though the informal exchange rate isn’t great.
Casa Acapulco usually opens by around 6:00 and stays open until the last evening departures in Terminal 1, roughly 20:00–21:00, matching domestic and regional flight banks. Stock leans heavily toward tourists heading home from the Costera area, so you’ll see beach prints, Acapulco logos, and souvenir bottles, but not much in the way of tech gear or serious luggage.
Watch out for bulky items like large sombreros or fragile glass bottles if you’re connecting later through MEX or another hub; overhead bins fill fast on the common 737 and A320 flights into and out of ACA. Smart move: grab compact, flat souvenirs here and buy any real tequila or mezcal in a bigger duty-free at your next airport.
