The numbers look clear on paper: Remote Parking sits 1 mile from Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto International Airport (AAP), priced at $15 per day or $75 per week, with a shuttle that supposedly runs every 15 minutes and takes 15 minutes to reach Terminal 1. But current ground reports around Samarinda only mention the small on-site lot directly beside the terminal, with no photos or signs of a separate, shuttle-served remote area.

Officially, this is a remote lot with a 1-mile distance and a 15-minute shuttle ride in each direction, which would put you roughly a 30-minute round-trip away from your car. In reality, most trip reports and spotting guides describe AAP as compact, with travelers walking straight from the main car park to the terminal doors in just a few minutes, and no clear mention of a branded Remote Parking zone.

On pricing, $75 for a 7-day stay undercuts paying the $15 daily rate across a full week by $30, so the weekly deal makes sense if you’re leaving the car for 5 nights or more. For quicker trips under 3 days, the daily rate is fine, but only if the lot actually exists and is open, since the main terminal-side parking at AAP is usually the first choice in local advice.

Because traveler reviews and photos don’t show a dedicated Remote Parking shuttle or signage, treat this option as unconfirmed. Before you drive out toward AAP, call the airport’s published contact number and ask specifically about a remote lot 1 mile away with a 15-minute shuttle and a $75 weekly rate.
