EV drivers at AAP: plan to charge in Samarinda, not at the airport

Daily parking at the signed “EV Charging Stations” area runs about $10 per day, with a weekly cap around $50, but the name is misleading: there are no confirmed public chargers on-site at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto International Airport (AAP).

This parking zone sits right next to Terminal 1, so walking time from your car to the departures hall is only a few minutes, and you can roll bags straight across without waiting for a shuttle or cart.

Because no traveler reports mention live chargers at AAP, plan to top up in Samarinda city before you arrive, and then treat this as regular paid parking at $10 per calendar day instead of a place to refuel your battery.

If you’re leaving the car for a longer trip, the $50 weekly rate beats paying the daily price past five days, so once you hit day six or seven the math favors locking in a full week in the “EV” section rather than moving to another lot.

Signage at AAP is basic, so look for any boards or markings that reference EV near the curbside of Terminal 1; if staff direct you elsewhere, confirm the rate is still $10 per day and that it’s within easy walking distance of departures.

Practical tip: charge to at least 80–90% at a Samarinda charger before driving out, then treat this “EV Charging Stations” area purely as close-in parking and not a power source.
