Souvenir Shop

Right after security in T1, Souvenir Shop is your quick stop for last-minute gifts before boarding.

This small shop sits in the departures area of Terminal 1 at Annaba Rabah Bitat Airport (AAE), past security and before the main gate cluster. You don’t need to exit to landside, so it fits easily into a 20–30 minute pre-boarding window.

Souvenir Shop leans heavily on Algeria-themed items: expect fridge magnets with “Annaba” printed on them, small keychains, and basic postcards showing the Basilica of St. Augustine and local beaches. Stock isn’t huge, so if you see a city-branded item you like, buy it on the spot rather than circling back.

Prices run higher than downtown Annaba markets: a simple magnet might run around 300–500 DZD, with small trinkets and keychains climbing toward 800–1,000 DZD. Figure on paying an airport markup, but it’s still manageable for one or two small gifts.

The shop typically opens in sync with daytime departures from T1, so early-morning or late-evening flights usually still find it trading. Payment often works best in Algerian dinars, though some travelers report using cards at other AAE outlets, so keep at least 1,000–2,000 DZD handy.

Practical tip: if you want anything more substantial than magnets or keychains, buy it in Annaba city before you come to AAE; treat Souvenir Shop as your backup option, not your main shopping stop.
