Newsstand

Gate-side basics before T1 security checks

This small Newsstand in Annaba Rabah Bitat Airport’s T1 sits landside, so you can stop in before heading to security and passport control. Stock skews practical: bottled water, soft drinks, a few canned juices, plus factory-packaged snacks you can carry through screening without drama.

Expect mostly Arabic and French newspapers and magazines, with a thinner English-language rack than you’d see at a big hub like ALG or CDG. You’ll usually find at least one international title and a couple of football magazines, but don’t plan on niche tech or business publications here.

Pricing runs airport-normal: drinks around 150–300 DZD, snacks in the same range, and print media marked up slightly compared to shops in central Annaba. Card acceptance can be hit-or-miss in smaller Algerian terminals, so bring some cash dinars in 500 or 1,000 DZD notes to keep checkout fast.

Hours track the main outbound banks of flights from AAE T1, with the shop typically open from early morning departures until the last evening flights. If you’re on a late-night or irregular charter, don’t count on it being open past your scheduled boarding time.

Tip: buy your water and packaged snacks here before security; once you head into the small T1 departures area, options shrink quickly and prices can creep up another 50–100 DZD per item.
