Gate-side in T1, Panopolis is your main coffee stop
Right in Terminal T1 after security, Panopolis sits on the short concourse before the boarding gates at Zakynthos International Airport. It runs through the main departure window, so you can usually get a drink even on those early-morning charter waves. Expect standard Greek airport pricing: coffee a bit higher than in town, but still reasonable compared with inflight buys.
This is a straight café setup: counter service, pastries, sandwiches, soft drinks, and packaged snacks under the Panopolis brand. You’ll see the usual hot drinks line-up plus bottled water and juices, handy if you’ve just cleared security and emptied your bottle. Seating is limited and spills into the common gate area, so in peak July–August departures you may end up standing with your cappuccino.
Food-wise, think grab-and-go rather than a sit-down meal. You’ll find pre-made sandwiches and croissants in chilled cases, workable for a quick bite before a 2–3 hour flight back to the UK or mainland Europe. If you care about freshness, take a second to look at the prep times printed on the labels and pick from the most recent batch, especially later in the afternoon when traffic thins out.
Payment is straightforward: cards widely accepted, including contactless, and euros in cash still fine, which matters at a seasonal airport like ZTH where ATMs in T1 can run low. One practical move: order and pay in one go, then carry your tray to your actual gate, since boarding calls here can jump from “relaxed” to “get to the bus now” in under 5 minutes.
