Bistro Okienko

A

Gate-side quick stop in Terminal A

Bistro Okienko sits in Terminal A at Warsaw Chopin, on the airside side of security, and works best as a last-minute food stop before boarding. Think simple counter-service setup, not a long sit-down meal. It’s small, so at peak departures the line can spill into the corridor, but turnover stays fast enough for a 20–30 minute stop between gates.

Most items land in the 20–40 PLN range, so you’re not burning the whole per diem on one snack. Expect basic Polish bar bites and standard airport sandwiches rather than anything elaborate. Coffee and soft drinks are usually cheaper here than at the big chain cafés two doors down in Terminal A, and you’ll see plenty of passengers grabbing bottled water to hit the duty-free spend minimum.

Food is geared to quick service: pre-made sandwiches, pastries, and warm items reheated on demand. A hot snack and a drink will usually stay under 35 PLN if you choose from the board’s set combos. If you want something more substantial than crisps and a soda, this beats most generic kiosks in A on value alone. Just don’t come in expecting a full restaurant menu or table service.

Service cadence matches airport flow: staff push hard in the morning wave of Schengen departures from A, then it calms after 11:00. That’s the best time to get in, grab a coffee, and actually find a seat rather than eating at the standing ledge. Late-night options thin out in Terminal A after the last banks of flights, and Bistro Okienko usually starts winding down operations around those last scheduled departures.

Tip: if your gate in Terminal A is already posted, check the screens first and only stop here if you’re within five minutes’ walk; some A gates are a bit of a hike and boarding at WAW often starts a full 30 minutes before departure.
