Hotel-recommended transfers in Valencia usually mean calling Taxco taxis
Many Valencia hotels and Airbnbs give guests the number for Taxco when they want a named taxi company waiting at Valencia Airport (VLC) Terminal T. These are regular metered city taxis, not limos, but booked as an arranged pickup so the driver already knows your flight and address.
From VLC to the historic center around Plaza del Ayuntamiento, a Taxco ride usually runs about €20–€25 during the day, including the standard airport supplement shown on the meter. Expect around 15–20 minutes driving time if traffic on the A-3 is light; add another 10 minutes in rush hour.
Taxco uses the same curbside taxi rank as other city cabs, just outside Terminal T arrivals, slightly to the right as you exit the baggage hall doors to the street. If you booked ahead, the driver either waits at the rank holding a sign with your name or messages you with the license plate details so you can match the taxi at the stand.
Meter starts around €1.50–€2.00 plus an airport pickup fee, then climbs per kilometer based on the official Valencia taxi tariff. There is a higher night and weekend rate after roughly 21:00, so late flights can push a central trip closer to €30. Tipping is low-key; locals usually round up a euro or two on a €20+ fare.
Booking Taxco in advance usually happens by phone or through your hotel, with drivers tracking your flight number so they can adjust if your arrival at VLC shifts by 30–60 minutes. If you land without a booking, you can still request a Taxco-branded car at the rank, but you might wait one or two rotations if the dispatcher is feeding other companies first.
Compared with rides into town from the VLC metro (lines 3 and 5) at roughly €4 per person, Taxco only really makes sense once you have two or more people, heavy bags, or a late arrival. If your flight lands after 23:00, skip the metro timetable math and head straight for the Taxco driver holding your name.
Practical tip: Send your exact street address and door number to Taxco or your hotel in advance; Valencia’s old town has several similar street names, and a clear WhatsApp location can save five extra minutes of circling on a €25 fare.
