Gate-side basics: Hudson in T1 covers last-minute reading
Hudson in Terminal 1 runs daily from 05:00 to 22:45, so it’s open for most early departures out of Viracopos and the late Azul bank. It sits airside in T1, so you need to be past security before you can browse. Think of it as your backup plan if you forgot a book or need something to stare at besides the departure board.
This Hudson leans on magazines, paperbacks and small travel items rather than a deep bookstore catalog. Expect mainstream international titles, a handful of English-language bestsellers, plus Portuguese novels and business books. Prices land in typical airport range: paperbacks run higher than in town, and basic travel accessories like neck pillows and chargers cost a few reais more than city shops.
The shop also stocks snacks, bottled water, and basic medicines alongside the books, so you can grab a thriller, a 600 ml water, and headache tablets in the same stop. Inventory shifts with flight banks: mornings see more business magazines out front, while evenings skew to lighter reads and kids’ activity books. If you want something specific or niche, assume they won’t have it and plan to pre-load on a Kindle instead.
One tip: stop here right after security in T1 rather than “later” near your gate, since queues spike around the 06:00–08:00 departures and again after 19:00. Buy your reading and water in one pass, then head straight to boarding.
