Main $$$$ Post-security

Most UVF food talk is about lounges; Island Deli is the grab-and-go option in the Main Terminal

Island Deli sits post-security in Hewanorra’s Main Terminal, filling the gap between generic snack stands and the small lounges. It’s a local fast-food counter with a basic menu built around sandwiches, hot items, and quick cold drinks. Prices land in the mid-range for the island: think around $10–$15 for something that actually counts as a meal, not just chips and a soda.

This is a walk-up spot, not table service, and it works best if you’re already through security and within an hour or two of departure. The rating hovers in the mid‑50s out of 100, so set expectations at “okay and convenient” rather than destination dining. Compared with onboard buy‑on‑board pricing on many northbound flights, the value still comes out slightly ahead if you’re grabbing a sandwich and water together.

Figure 5–10 minutes to order and get your food when the Main Terminal is quiet, and closer to 15–20 minutes when multiple widebody departures are stacked. Since there’s no clear signature dish in reviews, lean toward simple items that reheat or hold well: toasted sandwiches, patties, and anything that doesn’t rely on crispy fries staying crisp in the humid UVF air.

No consistent complaints stand out in public reviews, but the airport’s overall food reputation runs average at best, so assume basic fast-food standards: limited customization, occasionally lukewarm items if you hit a lull, and drinks that cost more than in town. As with most Saint Lucia airport vendors, card is widely accepted, but having a spare US $10–$20 bill helps if the card terminal goes offline.

Pro tip: clear security first, check your gate on the Main Terminal screens, then stop at Island Deli with at least 30 minutes before boarding time so you’re not eating in the queue.
