Cafeteria Style Food Court

2

Near security in Terminal 2, this is the main hot-meal option

The Cafeteria Style Food Court in Terminal 2 sits airside, just past security for most regional flights, and works like a basic self-service canteen. You grab a tray, pick from the steam-table dishes, pay at a central cashier, and find your own seat at one of the shared tables. It’s one of the few spots in TSA T2 where you can get a full rice-and-dishes plate instead of just a sandwich or snack.

Pricing runs on the cheap side for an airport: expect around NT$120–200 for a simple set with rice, one main, and a couple of vegetables. Drinks like bottled tea or soda usually land under NT$50. You pay in cash or card at the counter, then bus your own tray to the return station; figure 15–25 minutes total from walking up to finishing a quick meal if there’s no big line.

Food is basic Taiwanese canteen fare: think braised pork over rice, fried chicken cutlet, simple stir‑fried greens, tofu, and egg dishes that sit in metal pans under heat lamps. Dishes turn over faster around lunch peaks between 11:30 and 13:30, so that’s when the food tends to taste fresher. If something looks like it’s been sitting, you can always ask the staff in simple English or Mandarin if a new tray is coming out.

Seating is open-plan with rows of tables and plastic chairs, and it can fill up when several flights out of Terminal 2 board around the same 18:00–20:00 bank. There are no power outlets at most tables and no table service, so this is a “eat and move on” stop rather than a laptop setup for an hour. Restrooms sit within a short walk, usually under 2 minutes away from the food court area.

Tip: if your boarding pass shows a gate at the far end of Terminal 2, eat here first, then allow at least 8–10 minutes to walk to the outer gates so you’re not rushing with a full tray in hand.
