T2’s only duty-free toy shop sits just past immigration

Toys in Terminal T2 is inside the international departures duty-free zone, so you need a boarding pass and completed immigration to reach it. It’s a small corner unit within the main duty-free area, easy to spot once you clear security and walk toward the T2 international gates. If you have kids waiting at home and only 10–15 minutes before boarding, this is the quickest place in TRV to grab a last‑minute gift.

This shop focuses on travel-friendly items: soft toys, basic puzzles, small cars, and character merchandise that fit easily into cabin baggage. Stock leans toward under‑10s rather than teens, and you’ll mostly see mid-range, mass‑market brands rather than premium collectibles. Expect prices above city shops in Thiruvananthapuram, but in line with typical Indian duty‑free toy sections at other tier‑2 airports.

Toys keeps the same hours as the main T2 duty‑free zone, opening for the first international departures and staying open until the last flight of the night. That usually means early-morning access around 3:00–4:00 and closing close to midnight, matching TRV’s Gulf and regional bank of flights. If you’re on a late-night departure with kids in tow, this is one of the few distractions open at that hour.

Selection is limited, so don’t expect full LEGO sets or high-end electronics. You’ll mainly find generic dolls, plush animals and simple games in the ₹500–₹2,000 range. Tip: check packaging sizes against your airline’s cabin baggage rules at T2—some of the larger boxed toys can be awkward if you’re already at your personal-item limit.
