Tanishq

T2

10-gram gold coins and bangles are the draw here

Tanishq sits inside international Terminal T2 after security, so you can browse right up until boarding. It’s a full-format jewellery store, not just a small kiosk, with gold, diamond, and gemstone pieces aimed at gifting and weddings. Staff are used to last-minute airport buyers and move paperwork quickly, which matters if you’ve got a flight in under 45 minutes.

Pricing follows regular Tanishq retail rates from city outlets, so a simple 22K gold chain can still run into the tens of thousands of rupees. You’ll see BIS-hallmarked 22K gold, lighter 18K pieces, and occasional silver items. This isn’t duty free in the classic sense; think standard Indian mall pricing, not big airport discounts.

Selection skews to lighter, travel-friendly jewellery. Expect small earrings, thin bangles, pendant sets, and 5–10 gram coins rather than heavy bridal sets. That makes it workable if you’re grabbing a gift for family abroad from Kerala. If you’re hunting very specific designs or large sets, you’ll get more depth at a city showroom on MG Road than in this T2 branch.

Payment works fine with Indian cards, UPI, and international credit cards, but budget time for KYC if you cross higher rupee thresholds; it can add 10–15 minutes. Best move: decide your budget before walking in and tell the staff upfront so they pull pieces in that price band instead of walking you through every tray.
