Beside the main departure seating in T1, Relay handles last‑minute books, snacks, and travel basics for domestic flights out of Thiruvananthapuram. It sits airside after security in Terminal 1, so you can duck in while still keeping an eye on the 1–15 gate screens. Stock is standard airport newsstand fare, but it’s one of the few spots in T1 where you can grab both reading material and packaged food in one stop.
Relay in T1 usually opens from the first bank of morning departures around 05:00 and stays open until the last domestic flights close boarding near 22:00. You’ll see stacks of English and Malayalam newspapers along the front racks and a mix of regional magazines near the counter. Prices on drinks and chips run higher than city shops, but still in normal airport territory: expect a 500 ml bottled water to be around ₹30–₹40 and basic snacks from ₹40 upward.
On the shelves you’ll find paperbacks, sudoku and crossword books, basic stationery, and a small stand of plug adapters and phone cables near the cashier. For a short hop to Kochi or Chennai of under 90 minutes, one quick browse here usually covers both a snack and something to read. If you forgot a pen for immigration forms on an onward international leg via T2, this is one of the few places in T1 where you can buy one on the spot.
Cards are widely accepted here, including Visa and Mastercard, and small purchases under ₹200 usually go through contactless without the terminal complaining. The store is compact, so at peak evening departures around 19:00–21:00 it gets tight near the entrance. Tip: if your gate is at the far end near 14–15, stop at Relay first, then walk down; you won’t pass another proper shop on that stretch.
