Khadi India

T1

Near the main security zone in T1, Khadi India sells only government-certified khadi products.

This shop in Terminal T1 sits on the departures side, after check-in but before you head toward the far domestic gates. Everything here comes under the Khadi and Village Industries Commission ecosystem, so fabrics and goods follow official standards rather than generic souvenir-shop merch.

You see handspun cotton and khadi fabric by the metre, usually in the ₹300–₹800 range depending on weave and weight. Ready-made kurtas, simple shirts and stoles hang on the central racks, with most clothing under about ₹1,500. If you want something specifically “Made in India” instead of duty-free labels, this is the first place to look in T1.

Shelves along one wall carry small-batch soaps, herbal cosmetics and basic ayurvedic-style products, many in the ₹80–₹300 bracket. Giftable items run from jute bags under ₹400 to small handicraft pieces around ₹500–₹1,000. Compared with the snack shops nearby, this is more about textiles and home-use items than airport munchies.

Pricing is fixed MRP, so no haggling and no surprise markups over street-level Khadi showrooms in Thiruvananthapuram city. Staff usually speak at least basic English and Hindi as well as Malayalam, which helps if you’re trying to confirm fabric types or washing instructions before a long international connection from T2 later.

Quick tip: if you’re eyeing fabric by the metre, check your bag weight first at the T1 check-in scales; khadi gets heavy fast and another 2–3 kg of cloth can push you over a 20 kg allowance.
