Short-stay and long-stay

Online prebooked stays at Turin’s official parking beat drive-up rates

Official parking at Turin Airport (TRN T1) covers all on-airport SAGAT car parks, both covered and open-air, with walk times from about 1 minute up to a 5-minute shuttle ride. These are the “Parcheggi Ufficiali dell'Aeroporto di Torino” you see on the airport site, used for both short-stay and long-stay trips. Compared with off-site park-and-ride lots, you pay more per day here but stay directly on airport grounds and deal with the airport operator, not a third-party.

Short-stay areas closest to T1 sit roughly a 1-minute walk from departures, so for drop-offs under 24 hours or tight meetings, you’re basically at the check-in desks as soon as you lock the car. For longer trips, you’ll be pushed to the more distant official lots that use a shuttle running around every few minutes, with transfer times of about 5 minutes gate to car park. Regulars on Parkos mention choosing these official lots for 06:00–07:00 departures so they’re not betting on an external shuttle turning up on time.

Online reviews on Trustpilot for “Parcheggi Ufficiali dell'Aeroporto di Torino” skew negative, with multiple users complaining about extra fees when exiting later than booked, sometimes by less than an hour. If your return flight into TRN is on an airline with frequent delays, pad your booking by at least 2–3 hours beyond scheduled arrival to reduce the risk of a surprise surcharge at the barrier. One reviewer also mentions poor responses when trying to get refunds or changes processed via customer service.

Regulars in expat Turin Facebook threads and Parkos reviews say they always pre-book the official parking online so the system recognizes their license plate or QR code at the gate and locks in a cheaper rate. They’ll still compare independent lots, but many default to on-airport for security cameras, lighting, and the ability to walk or take a 5-minute airport-operated shuttle. Tip: screenshot your booking with entry and exit times plus the total price and keep it handy on your phone in case there’s a mismatch at the exit column.
