NOK 400 per day and still no on-site EV charging at TRD
Trondheim Airport’s terminal-side car parks, including short-stay P3 and the long-term premium section in the multi-storey garage, currently list “Electric car charging: No”. That means you can park a Tesla right next to terminals A and B, pay terminal prices, and still come back to the same battery level you left with.
The short-term P3 / Kiss & Fly car park sits directly next to the terminal, roughly a 5‑minute walk to check-in, but the official facilities table states no EV charging. Same story in the long-term premium area in the multi-storey garage, even though you’re paying higher on-airport rates for that section.
Off-airport options and public chargers fill the gap. Many EV owners from Trondheim end up charging in town before departure, then either park at standard non-charging airport lots or skip airport parking. Current weekly pricing around the terminal-side long-term options runs at about NOK 2800 for seven days, which stings a bit more when you realise you’re not getting a charge out of it.
Regulars on r/trondheim often say “just take the train to Værnes” for trips longer than a day. The VY/NSB train from Trondheim S to Værnes takes about 35 minutes, drops you under the terminal, and sidesteps both parking cost and charging stress for city-based EV owners.
Practical tip: if you absolutely need charging while you’re away, plan your route via public chargers near the E6 before or after the airport, and treat TRD’s terminal parking as “park only, no power” until Avinor adds proper EV infrastructure.
