Taxi

Taxi € 35,00 (fissa da e per aeroporto Birgi – Trapani/Marsala)

First taxi from T1 often leaves with the 05:30 crowd

Late arrivals after 22:00 and first departures around 06:00 from Vincenzo Florio Airport Trapani-Birgi (T1) are exactly when Taxi Trapani earns its keep. The fixed fare runs about €35 each way between the airport and Trapani or Marsala, which sit roughly 20–25 km from the terminal. Figure about 25–35 minutes door to door in normal traffic from T1 to central Trapani.

Stands sit just outside the single arrivals hall of T1, about a 1–2 minute walk from baggage claim. The airport is small, so you go straight from the belt to the taxi rank with no shuttle. Fares are fixed at €35 for runs to or from Trapani and Marsala, so you shouldn’t see a meter creeping past that on a simple airport-city trip.

Taxi Trapani works on a flat price model rather than per‑kilometre guessing, so a solo traveller pays the same €35 that a group of three or four does. Split four ways, you’re looking at under €9 per person for a hotel drop in Trapani or Marsala. That compares against a cheaper bus ticket in the €5–€10 range, but the bus doesn’t hit every side street near the port.

For very early flights, plan a pickup around 90 minutes before departure if you’re staying in central Trapani or Marsala, since the T1 terminal itself is small and check‑in plus security rarely need more than 20–30 minutes. The 20–25 km ride usually flows quickly, but build in an extra 10 minutes if you’re heading from Marsala in summer when SS115 can back up.

Payment is typically in cash euros, so have at least €40 on hand for the ride plus a small tip. Some drivers accept cards, but it’s hit or miss and not something to test at 23:30 after a delayed Ryanair arrival. If you need a baby seat or extra luggage space for more than 2–3 large bags, mention it when you book so they can send a larger vehicle.

Practical tip: for arrivals after about 21:00, grab your bag quickly and head straight to the T1 taxi rank; if several flights land together, the queue for the €35 flat‑fare cars can jump from 0 to 20 minutes fast.
