McDonald's

T2 ★ 3.5 $$$$

Under-$5 meals in T2 when you just want something familiar

This McDonald’s sits airside in Terminal 2 at Taoyuan (TPE) and usually undercuts neighboring sit-down spots by a few US dollars per person. It’s the predictable stop for budget flyers who want a known quantity before a long-haul out of T2. Expect the standard global menu plus occasional Taiwan-only items, like limited-time pork or spicy chicken burgers that don’t always show up online.

Figure on paying roughly local street-food prices for a basic set: a burger, fries, and drink often lands well under NT$200, while add-ons and specialty drinks push you a bit higher. The 3.5-star crowd consensus lines up with expectations: it’s exactly what you’d find at a city McDonald’s, only inside an international terminal. Parents specifically call it an easy win for kids before 10–14 hour flights.

Lines spike hard around large departure banks, especially evening long-hauls out of T2. Multiple reviewers mention queues stretching past the entrance and 20–30 minute waits for food when half the terminal seems to show up at once. Regulars say to bail if the line is literally out the door; T2 has a couple of quieter options that may get you fed faster, even if they’re a bit pricier.

Seating is another weak point: during peak hours, people circle for tables and many end up carrying their trays back toward the nearest E or D gates. Frequent flyers treat this spot as takeaway only, grabbing bags to eat at empty gate rows or at the end of a pier. If you want to sit, send one person to stalk a table while the other orders.

Tip: Check the menu boards for any Taiwan-only burgers first, then decide; if nothing special is on and the queue is long, you may be better off walking 5–10 minutes to another T2 outlet.
