Gate-side flip-flops and beachwear in the Main Terminal
Ron Jon Surf Shop sits in Tampa’s Main Terminal landside, on the ticketing level before you head to the airsides. It runs typical mall-style hours, roughly early morning through evening, so it’s usually open for daytime departures. Think Florida beach shop dropped into the airport: logo tees, swimwear, rash guards, hats, and bright souvenirs tied to Tampa and Cocoa Beach.
Prices land in normal tourist-shop territory: t-shirts around $20–$30, flip-flops in the $20–$40 range, and swim trunks or women’s suits from about $35 upward. It’s not outlet-cheap, but you’re not getting gouged like some hotel gift shops either. Good backup if your checked bag has your only swimsuit or you forgot sandals before a Gulf Coast trip.
The logo gear is the main draw: classic Ron Jon surfboard graphics on hoodies, kids’ shirts, and trucker caps. You’ll also see sunglasses racks, sunblock, beach towels, and a few small beach toys that kids can actually use at Clearwater or St. Pete. If you just need a basic cover-up, boardshorts, or a visor before heading to the shore, you’ll find it quicker here than digging through destination shops later.
One practical move: stop here when you first reach the Main Terminal, before riding the train out to Airsides A, C, E, or F. After you board the shuttle, your fashion options shrink fast, and you won’t want to backtrack across the terminal just for a $25 t-shirt.
