Piattini

Gate-side Italian small plates before the Main Terminal shuttles

Piattini sits pre-security in the Main Terminal at Tampa International Airport, just before the shuttle stations to Airsides A, C, E, and F. It runs on typical terminal hours that track with the main building, so you’ll usually find it open from early morning into the evening bank of departures. Being landside means anyone can eat here, not just ticketed passengers, which helps if you’re meeting family before a 7:30 p.m. flight out of Airside C.

The menu leans Italian with small plates, flatbreads, and pasta, plus wine by the glass. Expect airport pricing: think roughly $15–$20 mains and glasses of wine that creep into the low teens. Portions fit the “piattini” name, so plan on ordering two plates if you’re actually hungry before a 4-hour hop up to BOS or ORD.

Service runs on seated dining time, not grab-and-go speed. Build in at least 45 minutes here if your boarding pass shows a 5:10 p.m. departure and you still need to ride the shuttle to Airside F. There’s a bar counter for solo travelers; it’s usually quicker to settle up from a bar stool than a table when the dinner rush hits after the 6:00 p.m. bank of flights.

Drinks skew classic: Italian reds, Prosecco, and standard cocktails poured in airport-style 1.5 oz shots. A glass of Montepulciano can be a calmer way to wait out a 90-minute delay than standing in the Main Terminal food court lines. If you’re keeping an eye on a 3:30 p.m. departure, the departure boards are within a short walk, so you can check them without losing your seat.

Tip: If your flight leaves from Airside E or F, leave Piattini at least 25 minutes before boarding time to clear the shuttle ride plus any late security line surprises in the satellite terminal.
