Tampa’s Long Term Garage sits directly beside the Main Terminal and shares near-identical pricing with the Short Term Garage for roughly the first 3 hours, just without that free first hour. You’re still only a 2 minute covered walk into the terminal, using the same core access points as Short Term, but you avoid paying a premium once you’re past that initial 60-minute window.

This is a true garage setup with multi-level covered parking directly connected to the Main Terminal, not an off-site lot or remote surface field. Flyers on Reddit and FlyerTalk treat it as interchangeable with Short Term for anything over an hour, since the posted hourly rates line up after that free first hour disappears. For a 2–4 hour pickup, drop-off, or meeting inside the terminal, that pricing match is the whole play.

Regulars use Short Term only for quick meets under 60 minutes, then default to the Long Term Garage when they expect to cross that one-hour mark. Because the structures sit adjacent to each other, you’re not giving up much in walk time—still about 2 minutes into the Main Terminal concourse with elevators and walkways from each level. For trips of several days, you keep that same connected walk instead of moving to a remote economy lot.

No serious complaints pop up on FlyerTalk about security, lighting, or elevator reliability in the Long Term Garage, and the fact that pricing mirrors Short Term for the first few hours seems to be well-known among TPA regulars. One FlyerTalk user even calls out that the Short Term Garage sits above the terminal while Long Term sits adjacent, with prices “identical” for the first 3+ hours. Tip: if you think you’ll be 70–90 minutes, skip Short Term and drive straight into Long Term.
