Vana Tallinn towers over everything in T1’s Duty Free

This main airside Duty Free in T1 leans hard into liquor, cigarettes, and candy; Vana Tallinn has its own wall of bottles, gift boxes, and sizes from miniatures up to 1L. Estonians and Finns on short‑haul runs treat it as a last‑minute booze stop before 30–45 minute flights north. You’ll also see shelves of regional vodka and liqueurs alongside the usual global whisky, gin, and rum brands.

Most alcohol prices sit only slightly below Tallinn city supermarkets, and several reviewers call them “not really cheap” for big‑name whisky and gin. The exception is Vana Tallinn and some regional spirits, where promos can beat town shops by a few euros per bottle. Cigarettes and confectionery sit in the same “ok but not amazing” price band, better than city kiosks but rarely ferry‑level cheap.

Regulars flying to Helsinki or Stockholm often grab just one or two bottles of Vana Tallinn here, then do serious stock‑ups on the Tallinn–Helsinki ferries, which have stronger multi‑pack alcohol and cigarette deals. Others stand in the aisle with their phone open to Prisma or ferry websites to compare a 0.5L or 1L bottle price before committing. If you see a yellow promo tag on a specific spirit you already know, it’s usually safe value.

Watch out for assumptions: that 12‑year Scotch or international vodka brand may be only €1–2 under town prices, and ferries often beat the airport on cartons of cigarettes and bulk spirits. Candy and chocolate ranges skew heavily to big European brands, with lots of 2‑for deals but few true rarities. Tip: if you’re only buying one Estonian souvenir bottle and have under 10 minutes to boarding, head straight to the Vana Tallinn display near the front entrance, grab a boxed 0.5L, and pay at the nearest till.
