Valet Parking

Valet

Hand your keys over at the terminal and walk in

Daily valet at TIJ or CBX runs about $30, with a weekly rate around $210, and the whole point is zero time spent circling for a space. Cars are picked up right next to the Main Terminal doors or at the CBX entrance, then parked off to the side while you head straight to check-in. This is the pay-more, think-less option.

At CBX, reviewers mention attendants meeting them right at the bridge entrance and having the car ready on return, but they also call it “pricey” compared to already-high CBX self-parking. One Google review describes handing off the car at the curb before crossing the bridge, then getting it back in front of the terminal after a 3–4 day trip. The trade-off is skipping a 10–15 minute walk from farther-flung lots with luggage and kids in tow.

In front of TIJ, locals report “guys offering to park your car for you right in front of TIJ,” and Facebook threads warn that some of these are informal operators. Posts from Tijuana groups say to look for clearly signed valet stands, printed tickets with your license plate written in, and uniforms that match the lot’s name, instead of handing keys to anyone waving you down in the drop-off lane.

Regulars who use CBX valet say they save it for 1–3 night trips or red-eye returns when standing 20–30 minutes for a shuttle feels worse than paying the premium. Others in local groups skip valet entirely and park themselves in fenced lots with visible cameras. Complaints focus on delays of 10–20 minutes at pickup when the lot is busy, plus the usual nervousness about leaving keys with third parties.

  • Practical tip: Before you fly, take a photo of your car, odometer, and valet ticket, and confirm the official lot name and phone number printed on that ticket at the stand.
