TGU’s tiny Gate 2 international area gets two VIP Club doors
At Toncontín’s Terminal 1, Salas Internacionales VIP Club is less “full lounge,” more pay-per-use waiting room with AC, Wi‑Fi, and basic snacks. Both locations sit airside on the 2nd floor in front of Gate 2, so this is really about getting out of the main hall crowd before an international departure.
Access runs through lounge memberships and paid day entry, so you don’t need to be on a specific airline or in a premium cabin to walk in. Check your Priority Pass or similar card details in advance, then budget cash or card for a one-off visit if you’re flying out of Terminal 1 on a cheap ticket.
The two Salas Internacionales VIP Club rooms sit opposite each other on the same upper level above the international gates, both signed near Gate 2. If the first reception desk shows a long line or the room looks full through the glass, walk 10–20 meters down the corridor and try the second door; capacity ebbs and flows with each departure bank.
Food runs to packaged snacks and light cold options rather than hot buffet spreads, so eat a proper meal in the main terminal before security if you can. Expect basics: chips, cookies, maybe a sandwich or two, and soft drinks, bottled water, and simple well drinks from the bar; this is not the place to plan a full dinner before a 3‑hour flight.
Drinks are the better value here, particularly if you want a beer or a simple rum-and-Coke instead of paying bar prices near Gate 2. Wi‑Fi is usually stronger than the free terminal network in TGU, and power outlets around some seating clusters on the 2nd floor make it a workable spot to top up a laptop before an evening departure.
Hours can flex with the international schedule, but the VIP Club typically opens ahead of the first outbound bank and closes after the last evening flights in Terminal 1. For a morning departure out of Gate 2, aim to clear security at least 90 minutes early; that gives enough time to check both entrances, grab a drink, and still be at the gate when boarding starts.
Practical tip: walk past the first Salas Internacionales VIP Club door by Gate 2 and quickly peek into the second location; pick the quieter room, then sit near a power outlet so you can head to boarding with a full battery.
