Post-security sunglasses fix before your Stansted gate

Sunglasses Boutique sits airside in London Stansted’s main departure lounge, after security and before the tram out to the satellite gates. You walk past it on the standard route toward the A and B gate piers, so it’s an easy stop on the way to Ryanair or Jet2 departures.

Most frames land in the £80–£250 bracket, with a few designer pairs pushing higher if you want Ray‑Ban, Oakley, or Prada. Expect proper airport pricing, not outlet deals, but you do at least get the usual UK duty‑free VAT advantage if you’re headed outside the UK.

Stock skews to classic travel styles: aviators, square black acetate, sport wraparounds and a few louder seasonal colours. You’ll also see cheaper house-brand or mid-range labels under £100 if you just need something for a sunny arrival at Alicante or Athens.

Service runs in normal terminal retail hours, roughly from the first bank of morning departures around 04:00 until late‑evening flights tailed off after 21:00. Staff usually let you try on as many pairs as you want, and they’ll check fit around the ears and nose bridge if you ask.

There’s no formal repair bar, but they can tighten loose screws and swap basic nose pads on the spot in a couple of minutes. Hard cases and cleaning kits sit near the till and typically add £10–£20 to the bill.

Quick tip: snap a phone photo of the model code on the arm before you buy, so it’s easier to replace or match lenses later if your bag takes a hit in transit.
