Salmon teriyaki boxes under £10 set the tone at itsu
itsu sits airside at London Stansted Airport (STN) and runs on the usual chain model: fast service, pre-packed sushi and hot rice bowls, grab-and-go drinks. You’re looking at roughly £7–£10 for most boxes and around £3 for miso or small sides, so budget about £12–£15 per person with a drink.
The cold side leans on salmon: sushi and sashimi sets often feature 6–12 pieces with mixed nigiri and maki, typically in the £8–£11 range. Veg options show up too, like avocado or cucumber maki and veggie sushi combos. If you want something lighter before a short-haul Ryanair hop, grab a smaller 6–8 piece box rather than the large mixed trays.
Hot food usually means rice or noodle bowls warmed to order in under 5–7 minutes. Expect chicken or veggie gyoza, katsu-style dishes and rice with teriyaki sauces. These land around £8–£10. It’s still airport pricing, but cheaper than most full-service sit-down spots in the Stansted departure lounge.
Drinks are mostly bottled: green tea, flavoured waters, soft drinks, sometimes kombucha, usually in the £2–£3.50 bracket. You’ll also see snack pots like edamame, seaweed thins, and little dessert bites, which sit in the £1.50–£4 range and work well if you just need something for a 1–2 hour flight.
Seats vary by location inside STN, but assume tight tables and a lot of people using it as a 15–20 minute refuel stop before boarding. Turnover is fast and staff aim to keep the fridge stocked so you can be in and out in under 10 minutes if your gate is already showing on the boards.
Tip: check the time on the sushi label; anything made more than 3–4 hours ago, skip and go for a hot rice bowl instead.
