Gate-side duty free option in Terminal 2
Terminal 2’s Duty Free Americas sits airside after security, so you can shop right before boarding your Frontier or international charter flight. It’s one compact storefront, not a big walkthrough store, so expect a quick in-and-out stop rather than a long browse.
You’ll see the usual liquor wall with standard 750 ml bottles plus a few 1-liter travel sizes, generally priced below what you’d pay in the city but not “airport unicorn” cheap. Think mainstream whisky, vodka, tequila, and rum rather than rare single malts. Staff usually ring you up in under 5 minutes unless a bank of flights out of Terminal 2 hits at once.
Fragrances and cosmetics fill most of the remaining shelf space, skewing toward big brands you’ll recognize from TV ads. Pack sizes are airport-style: gift boxes, duos, and 100 ml bottles, plus some smaller travel kits you can toss straight into a quart bag. Expect typical duty free price breaks versus U.S. mall retail, not massive deep discounts.
Tobacco, souvenir candy, and logo-style gift items round things out, useful if you forgot a present before reaching STL. Because Terminal 2 is much smaller than Terminal 1, selection here is tighter; if you want something very specific, buy it in town. One practical move: snap a quick photo of your receipt in case you’re asked about your duty free purchases at your destination customs check.
