Gate-side caffeine fix in Terminal 1

Grounded sits in Terminal 1 at St. Louis Lambert, on the concourse used by American and Delta, and functions as the basic coffee stop before you line up for boarding. It’s post-security, so you can grab a drink on the way to gates in T1 without padding extra time for checkpoints.

Hours track roughly with the morning and evening banks in Terminal 1, with doors usually open by 5:00 a.m. and closing after the last mainline departures wind down around 8:00–9:00 p.m. Early flyers on 6:00 a.m. American or Delta departures can count on hot coffee before that first leg out of STL.

Expect standard airport pricing: drip coffee runs in the $3–$4 range, espresso drinks creep toward $5–$7, and simple pastries sit around $3–$5. It’s all counter service, so you order, pay, and either walk back to your gate or camp at one of the few nearby tables in the Terminal 1 concourse.

The menu leans hard on coffee and grab-and-go. Think lattes, cappuccinos, iced coffee, bottled drinks, plus muffins and breakfast breads that work as a quick bite before boarding at T1. If you want a full hot meal, you’ll be happier walking a few minutes down the concourse to one of the larger restaurants in Terminal 1.

Service speed varies with the morning rush in Terminal 1, especially during the 6:00–8:00 a.m. push when multiple American and Delta flights board at once. With only one counter and a small prep area, a five-person line can easily turn into a 10-minute wait.

Tip: If your T1 flight boards in 30 minutes or less, mobile-order food elsewhere or grab snacks first; use Grounded only for a quick drip coffee so you’re not nursing a made-to-order drink while your group lines up.
