Terminal 2 flyers only get one real sit-down option: Crushed Red.
Crushed Red sits past security in Terminal 2, used mainly by Southwest, so you don’t need to hike over from Terminal 1 for a salad or flatbread. It runs through most flight banks, roughly from early morning departures into the evening, covering that 6 a.m. coffee crowd and the 7–8 p.m. stragglers heading to Midway or Denver.
The menu leans heavy on chopped salads and flatbread pizzas, so it’s a better bet than the average bar-and-burger setup near the T2 gates. Expect build-your-own salads in the $10–$15 range, plus pre-set combos if you don’t want to think between B10 and B20 boarding calls. Portions run larger than they look, so one salad usually covers a normal lunch before a Southwest hop.
Flatbreads land in the same $10–$15 window, with standard toppings like pepperoni, chicken, and veggie mixes that work for sharing across a two-top. If you’re tight on time before a flight to Dallas Love or Phoenix, flatbreads tend to come out faster than custom salads. Drink list is simple: fountain sodas, bottled water, and a small beer and wine lineup that’s priced like the rest of STL, roughly $8–$12 a pour.
Seating sits just off the main Terminal 2 concourse, so you’re still within a quick walk of most Southwest gates, usually five minutes or less from the far end. Outlets are hit-or-miss at the tables, so charge up near your gate if that 737 to Chicago is delayed 30 minutes. Noise level tracks with the boarding banks, so expect it to spike around those 6–8 a.m. and late-afternoon departure waves.
Tip: If you’ve got under 25 minutes before boarding in Terminal 2, skip table service and order a flatbread or salad to go so you can eat at your exact gate number.
