Wingtips Lounge

2 · E31 Open · 04:30-22:30 Day pass $38

Gate E31 in Terminal 2 is where Wingtips turns into “the Lufthansa lounge.”

Figure that out first: in Terminal 2 at STL, Wingtips by gate E31 doubles as the contract lounge for Lufthansa’s evening E-gate departures. During that bank, Priority Pass and $38 day-pass guests report being turned away or finding the small room packed with LH passengers. Outside that window, it feels more like a standard independent lounge for T2’s low-cost and charter traffic.

Hours run 04:30 to 22:30 daily, which matters in Terminal 2 where several restaurants don’t open until closer to 06:00. Early-morning Frontier or Southwest flyers use it to sit with coffee and Wi‑Fi before the rest of T2 wakes up. Just remember: this is post-security in Terminal 2; there’s no way to access from Terminal 1 once you’ve cleared TSA there.

Access is independent: you can walk up and buy a day pass for $38, or come in via Priority Pass and similar programs. Several FlyerTalk reports say staff stop PP entries around the Lufthansa departure, usually in the early evening, to keep space for business-class and status guests on that flight. If your flight leaves from another E-gate in that period, build in a Plan B seat by the concourse windows.

On food, set expectations low. Regulars mention “very limited” options: think a few small sandwiches plus packaged snacks like chips or cookies, not a hot buffet. TravelUpdate’s review backs this up and notes that anyone wanting a proper meal still heads to the T2 food court near gates E20–E22, then comes back here just for a drink and a power outlet.

Drinks are more straightforward. Soft drinks, basic beer, and well spirits are complimentary at the bar, but middle and top-shelf liquor or better wines come with an extra charge. One FlyerTalk poster called out that nearly anything on the upper shelves costs more, so check the price sheet before you ask for your usual premium whiskey or IPA.

What regulars do: they avoid the Lufthansa bank altogether and target mid-afternoon or late-morning visits, using the space as a work pod with drinks rather than a dining room. The practical move: eat near E20 first, then head to Wingtips by E31 about 60–90 minutes before departure, unless you see a long line of LH passengers at the desk.
