Flat-rate chauffeured cars run from both T1 and T2
The airport Limousine Service at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (SSH) runs from dedicated desks in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 and focuses on fixed-price rides in marked cars with uniformed drivers. It’s the step up from street taxis if you care more about a predictable fare than haggling in the car park, especially after late arrivals on European charter flights.
You’ll usually see the Limousine Service counters right after baggage claim in T1 and T2, alongside the regular taxi booths and hotel reps, with staff quoting prices on a printed tariff sheet. Fares are set by zone rather than meter; for example, Naama Bay and the main hotel strip have a standard rate that doesn’t change at 02:00 when your flight from London finally lands.
Cars are typically standard sedans and larger vans, branded with airport limousine decals, and driven by uniformed chauffeurs who wait at the terminal exit holding a card with your name if you’ve prebooked. For most central Sharm hotels the ride is around 15–25 minutes depending on traffic, and you can ask at the desk for the approximate driving time to Nabq Bay or Old Market before you pay.
Prices are higher than a street taxi but lower than many hotel-arranged transfers, with a clear per-car rate instead of per-person pricing; that matters if you’re splitting the cost between 3–4 people heading to the same resort. Payment is usually in Egyptian pounds, but some desks accept euros or US dollars at a posted rate, and it’s worth confirming the currency and total amount on the receipt before you follow the driver to the vehicle.
How to use it, step by step:
- 1. After clearing customs in T1 or T2, walk to the official Limousine Service counter in the arrivals hall, next to the taxi and tour desks.
- 2. Tell the agent your hotel name and area (for example, Naama Bay, Nabq, or Hadaba) and ask for the fixed limousine rate from their printed tariff.
- 3. Confirm the total price, currency, and approximate travel time (often 15–25 minutes to central Sharm), then pay at the desk and keep the receipt.
- 4. Follow the staff member outside to the clearly marked limousine car or van, check the plate matches the receipt, and only then load your bags.
- 5. On arrival at your hotel, get your luggage out first, then pay any agreed tip in cash; for short hops under 30 minutes, most visitors tip in the range of 20–50 EGP per car.
One last tip: if you land late at night on a delayed charter, lock in the limousine quote inside the terminal before stepping outside, where independent drivers will start calling out prices that can jump well above the posted airport rates.
