Showers you can actually book, right by Gates 18–23

This Ambaar Lounge in Terminal 1 sits near gates 18–23 and stays open 24 hours, so it’s the default stop if you have Priority Pass, LoungeKey, or want pay-per-use access in Salvador and your timing is awkward. It’s past security, so you’re already airside when you reach it.

The headline feature is the shower setup: you don’t just walk in, you ask the check-in desk outside the lounge to reserve a shower room. Inside, you get a walk-in shower, toilet, sink, luggage rack, towel, and basic soap, which is plenty for a reset after a red-eye or a humid Bahia afternoon.

The room itself runs long down the terminal, with seating wrapped along the length of the space. One reviewer hit it on an uncrowded evening and still called out how much seating was open, so it can handle normal traffic better than the average Brazilian contract lounge.

Toward the far end of the lounge, across from a row of egg chairs, there’s a snack station. Expect more of a light-bites setup than a full restaurant: think simple nibbles to carry you between meal times rather than anything you plan a dinner around. Drinks generally follow the standard contract-lounge template.

Complimentary Wi‑Fi is included and has been reported as working well, which matters more here than the food if you’re trying to clear email at 02:00. Power points can be patchy in older Brazilian lounges, so plug in as soon as you spot a working outlet near your seat.

Regulars head straight to the desk on arrival to ask about shower availability instead of waiting until they feel grimy. They also lean on this lounge as the all-night option when a flight leaves after midnight or arrives before 06:00, since many terminal cafés in SSA keep shorter hours.

Plan one move: on landing or after clearing security, walk toward gates 18–23 and check shower wait times first. If there’s a list, put your name down, then grab a snack and Wi‑Fi while you wait.
