Ducks Breakaway Bar

Bar & Grill · Casual

C · 18

Gate 18 in Terminal C doubles as a mini Ducks bar.

Right by Gate 18 in Terminal C, Ducks Breakaway Bar leans into Anaheim Ducks colors and merch, so you’ll see jerseys and caps at the counter before evening flights. It’s a casual bar & grill, so think beers on tap and standard airport bar food rather than anything fancy. Everything here is post-security, so you can sit with a drink and still watch the boarding area at C18.

Menu intel at SNA is thin, but expect the usual burgers, wings, and fries in the $15–$22 range, plus cocktails and draft beer running roughly $9–$15. Service runs through most flight banks; if you have a 6:00 a.m. departure from C18, don’t count on a full bar yet, but late-afternoon and evening Ducks fans flying to places like DEN or DAL tend to pre-game here. TVs on the walls usually carry ESPN or West Coast games when they’re on.

Seating spills into the concourse near Gate 18, so you’ll find a mix of bar stools and small two-tops, maybe 30–40 seats in total. That’s tight for a full 737 load out of C18, so during the 4:00–7:00 p.m. window it can feel shoulder-to-shoulder. If you’re just grabbing a quick beer before a 5:30 p.m. boarding call, the bar rail is your best shot at a spot.

No standout dish has a cult following yet, so treat the food as backup, not a destination. If you care more about the game than the menu, angle for a seat with a direct view of the TVs and order something basic like wings or a cheeseburger, which most airport bar kitchens handle fine. Figure 20–30 minutes from order to plate if the terminal is busy with multiple C-gate departures.

Tip: If you’re flying from another concourse, walk over via the secure connector and plan to arrive at Ducks Breakaway Bar at least 45 minutes before your boarding time to lock in a seat near Gate 18.
